Cardiological prevention
The most important building blocks of cardiovascular prevention
Effective prevention begins long before cardiovascular diseases develop. A healthy lifestyle and the early detection of risk factors can significantly reduce the risk of heart attack, stroke, and heart failure. Together, we support you in maintaining your heart health for the long term.
Healthy eating
A balanced, Mediterranean diet contributes significantly to protecting the cardiovascular system. Plenty of vegetables, fruits, whole grains, legumes, nuts, fish, and vegetable oils, especially olive oil, are recommended. Sugary drinks, highly processed foods, saturated fats, and excessive salt consumption should be avoided as much as possible.
Regular exercise
Regular physical activity improves heart health, lowers blood pressure and blood sugar, and supports a healthy weight. Adults should engage in at least 150–300 minutes of moderate or 75–150 minutes of vigorous physical activity per week. Even more movement in everyday life has a positive effect on the cardiovascular system.
Quit smoking
Quitting smoking is one of the most effective ways to prevent cardiovascular disease. The personal risk begins to decrease shortly after quitting. Passive smoking should also be consistently avoided.
Healthy body weight
Being overweight, and especially obese, increases the risk of high blood pressure, diabetes, and cardiovascular disease. Even moderate weight loss can sustainably improve blood pressure, blood sugar, and blood lipid levels.
Blood pressure, cholesterol and blood sugar
Elevated blood pressure, cholesterol, or blood sugar levels often cause no symptoms for a long time, but can permanently damage the heart and blood vessels. Regular checkups allow for early treatment and help to significantly reduce the risk of heart attack and stroke.
Individual precautions and risk assessment
Everyone has an individual cardiovascular risk. Age, family history, lifestyle, and existing medical conditions all play an important role. Through modern diagnostics and personalized consultation, we work with you to develop an individualized prevention plan – tailored to your health status and personal goals.
