Which heart rhythm disorders do we treat?

The most common include atrial fibrillation, extrasystoles, and excessively fast (tachycardia) or slow (bradycardia) heartbeats. Atrial fibrillation is the most common sustained arrhythmia and, if left untreated, significantly increases the risk of stroke.

Diagnostics:

Resting and long-term ECG monitoring, as well as event recorders if needed, which can also record rarely occurring irregular heartbeats over longer periods of time.

Device therapy:

If the heartbeat is too slow, a pacemaker can replace the missing electrical activity. Implantable cardioverter defibrillators (ICDs) are used in cases of increased risk of life-threatening arrhythmias. In certain forms of heart failure, cardiac resynchronization therapy (CRT) can improve pumping function.

Implantation & Aftercare:

The implantation is performed under local anesthesia and is a routine procedure. Afterwards, we conduct regular checkups, monitor battery status and function, and offer remote telemedicine monitoring depending on the device type.
